This is the highest academic decision making body of the Institute. It looks after regular academic issues like class allotment, academic calendar, routine, syllabus, course file & lesson plan, feedback, examination, result analysis, special classes & training, outcome assessment etc. The committee also recommends regarding introduction of new courses, closure & intake reduction/enhancement of existing courses, faculty/staff recruitment and transfer, new committee formation, responsibility assigning etc. The composition of the Committee is standard with Principal as Chairman, FiC, Academics as Convener and all HODs and FiCs as members.

RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) was set up in 1999 by the erstwhile Regional Computer Centre (RCC), Calcutta (in JU) as a unique joint venture of NIC, Ministry of Communication & IT, Govt. of India and Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. In 2003 the lead role of management of RCCIIT was transferred to the State Govt. from Govt. of India.
